How do I open ClipboardV?

Press Command⌘ Shift⇧ + V from anywhere, or click the clipboard icon in your menu bar.

Where is my clipboard history stored?

All data is stored locally on your Mac using SwiftData. Nothing is sent to the cloud or any external servers.

How do I exclude an app from being monitored?

To exclude apps like password managers from being monitored:

  1. Open ClipboardV Settings (click the gear icon)
  2. Go to "Excluded Apps"
  3. Select the app from the dropdown
  4. Click "Add Selected App"

How do I clear my history?

Open Settings and click "Clear All History" in the Data section. Pinned items will not be deleted.

Can I change the keyboard shortcut?

The global shortcut is currently fixed at Command⌘ Shift⇧ + V to maintain consistency. Customizable shortcuts are planned for future updates.

Does ClipboardV work offline?

Yes, ClipboardV is 100% offline. No internet connection is required at any time.

Getting Started

Opening the App

  • Mouse: Click the clipboard icon in your macOS Menu Bar
  • Keyboard: Press Command⌘ Shift⇧ + V

Managing History

  • Search: Start typing immediately after opening to filter results
  • Filter by Type: Use the category pills at the top to see only images, links, text, or code
  • Pin Items: Hover over any item and click the pin icon to keep it permanently
  • Delete Items: Use the trash icon to remove specific items, or "Clear All" to reset history
  • Copy to Clipboard: Click any item to copy it (the popover closes automatically)
